In the past...

Holiday Play-schemes were one of our most popular services offered by the Project. Aimed at children between the ages of 5-11 years and were run for 2 x 2-hour sessions per day, 4 days per week. Covering 2 weeks for the spring holiday and for 4 weeks over the summer holidays. Over a dozen volunteers ran the holiday activities, offering youngsters the chance to take part in arts, crafts, sports, fishing, swimming, cooking, drama and other workshops along with regular outings to the beach, zoos and theme park. Sadly, since the COVID pandemic, we lost the majority of our volunteers, and have struggled to secure new ones since. Therefore, the play schemes are currently on hold, however, it is something we will look into doing again in the future.
Now...
The Centre currently hosts free activities and events throughout the school holidays, these are pre-bookable, they are suitable for ages 0-11 years, and Adult/Guardian supervision is required.
We have worked with Norwich Samba, Ruddy Muddy, Norwich Men's Shed, Crazy Colin, Bert's Amazing Creatures and many more. We have also worked with MX PEG (MILE CROSS PROJECTS AND EVENTS GROUP) to hold larger events for the local community such as The Galley Hill Dash and A Very Merry Mile Cross Christmas. Further details for our events can be found on our Facebook page @phoenixcentremx.
